19th of July 2010. Had a fantastic couple of days stay, the room was clean, comfortable and the bed had me sleeping like a baby, it even had a flat screen telly in it. It was just as i expected. Whilst it were'nt the Ritz, The Mactintosh Bar was again clean and had a bloody good atmosphere, the man at the helm, Richard, served some excellent malts and traditional ales which were really good, not yer typical rubbish grog thats for sure. The food was tasty, hot and very very plentiful, you will not go hungry. exceptional good value for the money.
It amazed me how diverse the people were in the bar and they all shared in the light hearted banter and fun, they actually talked to each other. Dont be put off by the fact it was a tin shack, its whats inside that mattered, nice place mate. Even dogs were welcome to come in out of the rain.
PS, Liked the early morning Bacon, Sausage and Egg butties from the silver catering van. Hot and tasty.
Good on yer mate.

Hi! Just had a lovely evening in the Mackintosh Bar, with some of the nicest meals we've had on our tour of Scotland. Absolutely great value, and just delicious food. And the "Bar Steward" was great company, very knowledgeable and good fun. So head for the tin shack behind the Corran Ferry Hotel for a great atmosphere, rarely found elsewhere these days. Thanks very much for a super night out. Regards, Mark and Sue 24/07/2010.

Dear Lesley and Richard, I just wanted to say a big 'thank you' for making me so welcome at the Corran Ferry Hotel last weekend. The room overlooking the ferry was lovely and comfortable - great to return to after a day's walking. The meals (both breakfast and bar meals) were delicious, and so filling that I hardly needed to eat any of my packed lunches ! Your home-made chocolates were lovely too.
The banter at the bar made for great entertainment in the evenings. I really enjoyed my stay. It was just a pity I picked the one weekend when the weather was dire. That just means I'll need to pay a return visit sometime when the weather is a little better !
Kind regards,
Gina Gainey
